Elon Musk Puts The Twitter Deal On Hold.

In a recent tweet, Elon Musk has announced that the $44 billion deal of buying Twitter is on hold citing a recent media report that disclosed the number of bot accounts is lesser than expected.

Recent Tweet Of Elon Musk:

The biggest and most-talked-about deal of the year 2022 may not happen at all.
"Twitter deal temporarily on hold pending details supporting calculation that spam/fake accounts do indeed represent less than 5% of users."

Bot accounts are fake/spam accounts that automatically post tweets based on certain content. Twitter has a revenue model for these accounts to monetise through ads and other paid offerings, such as Twitter Blue, Super Follows, and more.
The Tweet that Musk has posted clearly indicates that he had expected this number to be higher. The recent tweet pattern of Elon Musk also shows that he was more interested in monetising the service further. On the other hand, there are speculations that suggest that this could be a ploy to lower the original deal.

Will The Deal Happen?

However, Musk clarifies in a further tweet that he is 'still committed to the acquisition', hence there should be nothing to worry about. This interesting turn of events has made it clear that Musk is the only person who gets to decide if the deal will be continued or called off.

Now, this remains to be seen how the things go for Twitter, Elon Musk, and the Twitter board of directors.
